Unicorn Games Sessions

Unicorn Public House, Trumpington, Cambridge.

2 or 3 times a year we organise a session at the Unicorn on a Saturday afternoon and evening. The games are typically (as one described them recently) "Kosmos / Rio Grande" style, and various people bring along large swathes of their collections so there are plenty of games to chose from.

Starting time is typically 2:30 (but check the diary) and goes through to closing time. Obviously plenty of beer to hand, and the pub does a good standard of hot food. The event is no-smoking. The capacity of the room is probably about 25 players or 7 simultaneous games. Newcomers are very welcome.

Directions

From M11, Jn11 heading into Cambridge: Go straight at the multitude of traffic lights by Waitrose but then take the first left shortly afterwards (this is a one-way entrance). At the T junction, turn right and the Unicorn is a few tens of yards on the left.

From Cambridge heading out: Pass the Esso petrol station (left) and the Coach & Horses (right). At the war memorial (right) traffic lights you can see the pub but cannot turn towards it. Continue straight, turning right after the Shell garage (right) which is the same turning as above.

On leaving you have to go out to the war memorial traffic lights to join the High Street.

Games

To give a flavour, in March 2000 we played: Shark, Settlers (Cheops), Escape from Atlantis, GOOTMU, Cosmic Encounter, Babylon 5 (for 5 hours and it still didn't finish!), Vinci, Exxtra, Set, Ghost Party, Sherlock Holmes, Roborally, etc, etc.
